Ultimate List of Free Blogging Platforms

The purpose of this post is to create an index of the free blogging platforms that are available on the Internet.

I have used many of these free blogging platforms to create quick and dirty affiliate marketing sites. I find that Google really likes several of these platforms, for example Sampa. Any time I create a Sampa page, I have very good luck in getting ranked very high in Google for the keywords that I am targeting.

While I don’t recommend that you use these platforms for your primaryblogs (always own your domain names), they are great for affiliate marketing and niche marketing sites.

Informative post. Didn’t realize there were so many out there. Personally I’ve found wordpress to be adequate for my hosted blog. For my free blog Popular Gaming Culture I just host on Blogspot.

Cool, I’ve been experimenting with these recently for affiliate marketing. These are my findings from that list:
- Squidoo is not doing well, the sites keep dropping out of Google.
- Hubpages is doing slightly better.
- I tried blogger before and they rank, but don’t rank high.
- Wordpress are finicky about affiliate links so I dont use them
- Tumblr deleted my account after the Thirty Day Challenge so I steer clear now!

Those are the only ones I’ve used. I’ll have to check out Sampa, not tried those yet.

Thanks for the list, and the idea to do affiliate marketing with it. I’ve been thinking of doing affiliate marketing for my book on mySelf Adjusting Technique. And, being so new to doing this kind of thing, I don’t know if this a href tag will work right or not! It’s fun to learn though. Thanks for your help.

Hello!

Great compilation and good to know what Google likes in particular. I have another one for you SuperSized.org. The platform is based on Serendipity - s9y.org - Weblog software.

* Hosting is free
* You can use your own domain name ! That’s a cool feature.
* And you can take your blog to any host later. All you need to do is to install S9Y software, which is free and import the content. Done!
* Seems like nothing to loose.

I am not using their free hosting, but I use Serendipity, which is kind of underrated blog software like Linux versus MS Windows. You might want to check it out and add it to the list.
