I don’t know how long I could write about something I hate or find terribly boring. But, I guess if it was making me tons of money I’d keep writing…like it or not.

I agree with this article’s title a lot. Most niche’s are things you hate most, why? because its rare and “why would a webmaster create a site which they find boring etc”.

I’m afraid the demand and supply thing rules. What the average Joe looks after is not necessarily what you, an enthusiastic writer are passionate about. There are probably some exceptions but these niches are already overcrowded: Gadgets for instance or make money online blogs.

I think your right on the money with this. No pun intended. Always have the one blog you enjoy greatly, but the rest are there to make you money.

I agree 100%. I think it’s a great idea and have 2 now that I really don’t like the topics on. Of course my business blog makes me the most money but it’s in a different category. I run a virtual office so it’s not a niche blog.

Basically, what you are saying is that blogging can be your job. People don’t always like their jobs, but hey – we need to make a living, right.

So long as someone is able to keep it up then why not blog for the money (of course, in an ethical way, but that’s another issue).

People usually say that you should blog about what you like because otherwise you’ll burn out. If I understand you correctly, you can overcome your lack of interest by taking on a different perspective.

Note, by the way, that one doesn’t even need to become rich according to this. If one can maintain a niche blog and earn a decent living with less time and effort (and no boss) that’s pretty good.

In short, good point and well put.

You are exactly right! I have two flagship blogs, neither of which really make me any money.

My niche blogs are my money blogs. Heck, a couple of them I know nothing about the topic, but there is enough other content and information out there about the topic that with a little research, I can write content for them.

Plus, you can always take an existing article or content, read it really thoroughly to get a good understanding of what it is about, and then rewrite it in your own words.
