Looks like it has worked well for you. I consider a new version of Wordpress an opportunity for me to backup my database and wordpress files. I can get lazy when it comes to backups so these upgrades spur me into action! I've always done my upgrades manually. I don't think I could pluck up courage to go the automated route, but I guess if I've done all my backups first I could go for it :-) That plugin does look useful for a lot of people.
