Who doesn’t love a to do list you can work through and check off?

How about a couple more:
1. Participate in a blog carnival.
2. Do a little keyword research and title your posts with the best phrases.
3. Search Technorati for blogs in your topic area.

I agree with you both. I think that you should post at least once a day, but any more than that depends on the length of your articles.

If you write a pillar article, I think that it detracts from it if you post another article that same day.

Your right about the number of posts. Plus when your writing your best stuff it takes a lot of your time and you can only do so many of those without completely burning yourself out. I am working on a post now that will probably take me three days of working on it in between stuff so when I do get it finished it will be the only post for that day, maybe even 2 days

Posting a few times per day I’d say totally depends on how long your average entry is, with the longer entries many probably won’t be able to read more than one a day since it does take up time.

What I like to do myself is comment back to my readers, on my own blog if it is something to which can be responded but also comment back to an entry on their own blog. It usually stimulates them to return for more reading or subscribing.
