Blog carnivals and reader writing projects are a great way to network with bloggers in your niche, get your blog a little more attention and to gain more links and traffic. Handling and organizing the carnival though can seem like a lot of work.
Over at my blog I routinely invite readers to send me their best links on a topic. This is for two reasons in addition to the benefits listed above, the main reason being I find I don’t link out enough and linking out is a good thing to do. The other reason of course is it makes for great content for my blog!
In the past I have tried having people submit links via the contact form, comments, emails. It is all just too much work, and invites so much spam it becomes unworkable.
When my friend Damian asked for plugin ideas this was my chance to make what was once a tedious task into something I could do easily!
WP_Submission allows you to add a submission form to any post. As well as generating automatic emails it writes the submissions to a new post in drafts. Each submission is appended automatically with appropriate links and bullet formatting. All you have to do is edit the final post and make it live, easy!
You can read more about the plugin over at Damian’s site and look out for his other cool plugins too.
