If you need a good free backlink checker, I have the tool for you.  As many of you know, when you are trying to increase your search engine page results with Google you need lots of backlinks to your website.  I have been trying to find a good tool to see who is linking to my websites.  I have also been trying to find a good tool to show me the backlinks of the pages that rank higher than me.

The free backlink checker is Domain-Pop.com.  I absolutely love this tool. UnlikeYahoo Site Explorer, Domain-Pop presents these link in a very easy to read format.  In addition to this free backlink checker being easy to read, it seems to be very accurate.

Try it out.  Do you know of another free backlink checker?

Search Engine Friendly WordPress Titles

Yesterday, one of the best “make money online” bloggers, Garry Conn, released for sale a mini ebook titled “How Do I Make WordPress Titles Search Engine Friendly.” I had the pleasure last night to take a read through this mini ebook.

Who is Garry Conn?

For those of you who do not read Garry Conn’s Blog, I highly recommend that you read it daily. Garry Conn is one of the few Internet marketers who writes a blog actually explaining how to make money online. Unlike a lot of the make money online bloggers, Garry does not just write about how much money he makes and what he is buying with it. No, he actually helps you to make money online.

Who is this mini ebook for?

When you search for your articles on Google, does your blog title appear before your article title? If so, and you don’t know how to fix this problem, go and buy this mini ebook. Garry has written this ebook around fixing this problem. He has also provide the php code so that you can quickly fix your WordPress blog. This mini ebook is very easy to read and will quickly solve your problem.

Oregon Trail Facebook Application

Oregon Train, one of my favorite computer games of all time, is now available as a Facebook application.  If you are in your late twenties or early thirties, I bet that you feel the same way that I do about Oregon Trail.  With the original game you have to buy a Conestoga wagon and enough supplies to make a journey from the Mississippi to the Pacific Ocean.  Along the way you have to hunt for food, ford rivers and survive the trek.  Now this wonderful game is being introduced to online social networking as a Facebook application.

Unlike the original Oregon Trail, the Oregon Trail Facebook application requires you to get your Facebook friends to join you on this journey.  This is how the Oregon Trail Facebook Application incorporates Facebook’s social networking elements.  Maybe I can play with some of the same people that I used to play with when I was in junior high school.  That would be cool.

So see you on the trail.  Go download the Facebook application.

Facebook Applications Clean Up Tool

Facebook has just released its Facebook applications clean up tool.  This clean up tool is a much needed improvement to any Facebook user’s profile.  This tool allows you to move your Facebook applications from your main profile page to an extended portion of your profile.  This will allow you to keep your main Facebook profile page decluttered.

This Facebook Extended Profile page will allow Facebook to keep its unique clean appearance.  That is why I liked Facebook.  The user interface was very clean and tidy.  However, as more and more developers release Facebook applications this clean profile page has become cluttered.  Now you can install Facebook applications without worrying that you won’t be able to find the really important stuff on your Facebook profile page.

My Diet Facebook Application

Being that it is January 1, I thought that I would write about a new Facebook application from one of the best social networking sites for dieters, Fatsecret.com.  Fatsecret.com has launched the My Diet Application for Facebook.  I am sure that most of us would like to lose weight in 2008.  Maybe if we combine our love for the Internet, social networking sites and dieting, this will be the magic combination for this year’s resolution to be different from 2007’s resolution to lose weight.

The My Diet Facebook Application is a great facebook application.  My Diet allows you to:

  • track the food you are eating
  • record the number of calories that you burned
  • compare your dieting to you My Diet friends
  • track you weight loss (I know I am being presumptuous)
  • journal you progress
  • calorie counter
  • and more….

If you haven’t tried fatsecret.com, I highly recommend that you check out that website too.  It is a pretty cool community for dieters.  I think that dieting is a natural fit for social sites.  People like to diet with others.  Dieting becomes an all consuming hobby, and people like to talk about it with other dieters.

Well, I won’t lose any weight sitting here at my keyboard so I am going to wrap this up.

Happy New Year!!
